Not the gumdrop buttons!
It's a regular occurrence for me to embrace my inner child. This is something I do with a great sense of pride and a dash of irony. Recently I've been visiting McDonald's (something I haven't done for a few months) to expand my collection of promotional 'Shrek' figurines.
So far I own Shrek himself, the gingerbread man, and a baby donkey/dragon...thing, apparently called a 'dronkey'. They each have three riveting phrases, my personal favourite being Shrek's "I'm an ogre". As if we didn't know. Each time I opened my Happy Meal box I've hoped to see Donkey's charming snout peering out at me, but so far my prayers have remained unanswered.
I also have two photographs with the actual real characters themselves1:

Soon I will update this with a picture of the whole family, just as soon as I find the gingerbread man who I 'misplaced' last week.
1 In scaled-down cardboard form.
